The procession, or walking down the aisle, is such an important part of the wedding day, and the music that is played should feel special, romantic, emotional, and dramatic all rolled into one. There are several classic selections for the procession, including Pachelbel’s “Canon in D,” Wagner’s “Bridal Chorus,” and Clarke’s “Trumpet Voluntary,” but you can also choose a more modern song to play as you walk down the aisle.
Here are some of our more contemporary processional favorites.
“Ave Maria” by Beyonce

She got lost in many different ways.
Out in the dark without a guide
I know the cost of losing a hand
I never thought the grace of God was so high
I found heaven on earth
You were the last, the first.
And so here is this voice inside
Ave Maria
“Feels Like Home” by Chantal Kreviazuk

Something in your eyes makes me want to lose myself.
It makes me want to lose myself, in your arms.
There is something in your voice that makes my heart beat fast.
I hope this feeling lasts the rest of my life
If you only knew how lonely my life has been.
And how long have I been so lonely.
And if you knew how I wanted someone to accompany me.
And change my life the way you have.
“Make You Feel My Love” by Bob Dylan
Song preview “
When the rain blows on your face
And the whole world is in your case.
I could offer you a warm hug.
To make you feel My Love
When the evening shadows and the stars appear
And there is no one there to dry your tears.
I could hold you for a million years.
To make you feel My Love
I know you haven’t made up your mind yet.
But I would never hurt you.
I’ve known it from the moment we met.
There is no doubt in my mind where you belong.

“A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri
Song preview “
Rapid heartbeat
Colors and promises
How to be brave
How can I love when I’m afraid of falling
But seeing you alone
All my doubt suddenly disappears somehow
One step closer
I’ve died every day waiting you
My dear, fear not, I have loved you.
For a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more
“Bless the Broken Road” by Rascal Flatts
Song preview “
I went out on a narrow road many years ago
Hoping to find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a couple of times.
I wiped my forehead and kept pushing through
I couldn’t see how all the signs were pointing directly at you.
“In my life” by the Beatles
Song preview “
There are places that I will remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for good
Some are gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I can still remember
Some are dead and some live
In my life I have loved you all

“Over the Rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwo ole
Song preview “
Somewhere over the rainbow high above
And the dreams that you dreamed of
Once in a lullaby.
Oh somewhere over the rainbow
the blue birds fly, and the dreams you dreamed of,
Dreams come true.
“A Tape in the Sky” by Stevie Wonder
Song preview “
Oh so long for tonight that I prayed
May a star guide you on my way
To share with me this special day
Where a ribbon in the sky for our love.
If you allow me, I can touch your hand
And if you allow me one more time
So that you understand it too
There is a ribbon in the sky for our love.
“First day of my life” by Bright Eyes
Song preview “
This is the first day of my life
I swear I was born right at the entrance.
I went out in the rain all of a sudden everything changed
They are spreading blankets on the beach.
Yours is the first face I saw.
I think I was blind before I met you.
Now I don’t know where I am
I don’t know where i’ve been
But I know where I want to go
“I Do” by Colbie Caillat
Song preview “
It’s always been about me, about me, and about myself.
I thought that relationships were just a waste of time.
I never wanted to be the other half of anyone.
I was happy saying I had a love that wouldn’t last
That was the only way I knew until I met you
