These days it looks beautiful, noteworthy weddings are a dime (er, several hundred thousand) per dozen. And while you can’t go wrong with lush flowers, an eye-catching dress, and an unforgettable menu, those aren’t exactly one-of-a-kind wedding ideas, and going with what’s inside won’t necessarily set your wedding off the pack.

One (or many!) Costume changes
Have you heard that much-cited study that says humans develop taste fatigue while eating and get bored with a meal, even a really delicious one, after just a few bites? It’s not that different with the bridal look – all brides are spectacular, but to keep the excitement alive in your guests’ eyes long after that walk down the aisle, a wardrobe change is a definite fact. Keep them guessing with a change of your appearance from the ceremony to something shorter, sexier, or crazier! a jumpsuit, and take it to the next extra level by throwing in an after-party change, too. Ask your stylist for a hairstyle that can easily be transformed into a down hairstyle and you will get your guests excited again. They’ll be like, “Is this a wedding or a fashion show? And you will say: Both, because I’m crazy like that! Wink, hair twist, air kiss

A choreographed first dance
It’s YouTube gold, and nothing screams more than a wedding video seen by 14 million eyes around the world. And I don’t mean just the two of you dancing together in the ballroom, I mean a ballroom-inspired routine of eight songs, Making the Band -circa 2005, Step Up-2 Which makes everyone at the wedding stop what they’re doing and huddle around the dance floor and wonder when your new husband learned to do that with his back. After all, the first few dances are always a low point of the guests’ weddings (no offense; a very important moment for you, the couple, sure, but as guests, how many times can you see two people swaying silently? to “A Thousand Years” in a Life?) Spice up that pause in the wedding entertainment with an exciting hip hop dance, or maybe an Irish step dance, and give guests a dose of Extra they won’t be able to resist turning up to your Instagram story.
A logo
An extra couple is not just a couple, they are a brand. They are the creative force behind such iconic statements as The Cool Apartment, The Great Parties, and soon to be The Amazing Babies. If this sounds like you and your boo, why not go for one of the most unique wedding ideas – your own logo. To do this, sit down with your stationery or hire a full-fledged graphic designer to present you with a few options. Once you’ve selected one, feel free to go get it plastered everywhere at your wedding, bridal shower or bachelor party, showers, whatever you want. I’m talking about napkins, koozies, table runners, envelopes, photo backgrounds, programs…. Make an ice sculpture out of it if you dare! The idea is to remind each guest in an engaging and engaging way: Yes, we did this.

Food served on the wall
If you walked over a donut wall on Instagram in the last year and dismissed it as kitsch instead of one of the more unique wedding ideas, I have news for you: Food walls, food served on a wall, walls of Food – whatever – is going nowhere (because it’s stuck to the floor). Except maybe the ceilings. I see that food ceilings will become a thing by 2020. Anyway, whether you go sweet (donuts are the obvious choice, because they easily hang from peg boards, but you could make cookies os more shelves !) or tasty (more shelves!), a snack wall is a sure way to scale your wedding into extra territory. Because what can be more extra than offering your guests too much of something? The answer is: Offer it upright, directly in front of them, so they can come in with their mouths open and enjoy.
Animals that use flowers
Consider a trio of pygmy goats adorned with buttercup wreaths. Ask yourself: “At what time in my life could I have these goats by my side and not be questioned about it?” Answer yourself: “My wedding, and only my wedding.” Don’t miss this extra opportunity: Hire the animals. Goats, llamas, elephants, alpacas (which are not llamas) – all of them have been present, along with their own floral concepts, in the most exaggerated nuptials of this year. They make a great photoshoot for the guests, and some of them are even transportable, which is an extra exemplary way to get to the altar. Do you think your dog will do the trick? It is possible, but who has not seen a Maltese with a bow tie? Please note: the more exotic the better. (White tigers are, of course, the best.) Hire the animals, but check with your hangout first.
Someone who objects
WARNING, ONLY FOR PEOPLE WITH ADVANCED ADDITIONAL SUCTIONS! If you really want to go further into drama territory, and you’re not sure that your performance of the “Single Ladies” dance is going to score you enough points, raise an objection! The wedding objection is a massively underused function of the ceremony and just so you know that it is still fully up for grabs, as long as the objector is doing so for legal reasons, not reasons of the heart. So go ahead and make your friend from college or landlord or whatever jump out of their seats and yell, “I CAN’T KEEP MY PEACE FOREVER! and run out of the room. See what happens. Honestly, I don’t know. Probably nothing, I looked it up and there is almost no real reason anyone could legally object to a wedding these days. But still! What extra! People would literally never stop talking about how their wedding was so Extra, it hardly ever happened.
