A few months before your wedding day, you are working hard to make sure that everything is perfect and, most of all, that you look radiant when you deliver your wedding speech. To look good in your wedding dress, you have already started a program that combines sports and a balanced diet. For skin to chew on, you alternate between draining, exfoliating, and hydrating massages to create dream wedding makeup. You forgot something?

Your hands, of course, and more particularly your nails, which will be honored throughout the day. Surely, you dream of beautiful nails with a superior manicure to get some beautiful and original wedding photos when the wedding rings are presented. If you have brittle and yellowish nails or you just want a helping hand to beautify them, develop a nail care program for a few months taking note of these tips.

1. Clean your nails

To shorten your nails, make sure you know that the nail clipper is not your friend! So put it in the closet and bring a nail file to cut it. Another tip, don’t leave your nails too long to avoid breaking them on the eve of the big day.

To file them, make sure not to go back and forth from one side to the other that can create irregularities, always in the same direction, from the left side to the center and from the right side to the center.

When choosing a file, you will find different types on the market and different materials: cardboard, metal, glass or electric, choose the one that suits you best, but avoid cheap cardboard files that are sold in packages of 10, since they are often too aggressive and can damage your nails.

Did you think your skin just needed to be hydrated? Your nails also deserve special care in hydration to strengthen them. Varnish, cold, cleaning products, hot water, but also nail biting when preparing wedding invitations, all these elements can weaken the nails and make them brittle.

To do this, regularly apply an oil such as castor oil, sweet almond oil, or olive oil to your nails. Don’t forget to hydrate your hands as well and massage your cuticles with the oil.

3. Home care recipes

Before your visit to the esthetician for your wedding makeup and manicure, there are naturally effective treatments you can do at home:

  • To harden your nails: mix the juice of a lemon with 2 tablespoons of argan oil. Next, massage the nails for a few minutes with this mixture and repeat this operation once a week before applying the varnish.
  • For shiny nails: the solution is white vinegar to make the nails shine and shine. 2 tablespoons of the latter with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and that’s it.
  • For white nails: still the juice of a lemon mixed with a few drops of lavender essential oil. Massage the nails with this mixture and repeat the operation regularly.

Once your care is done, apply a base coat to protect your nails. These treatments can be done at the esthetician, a monthly appointment is an opportunity to be pampered in full preparation.

4. Good food hygiene

When it comes to creating an original wedding menu, prepare healthy and balanced meals every day to restore beautiful, fortified nails. Are your nails soft, brittle, or split? This can be a sign of iron or calcium deficiency. To check this, get a blood test and develop a healthy diet to fill in these gaps.

Eat everything without forgetting these few foods: red meat for iron consumption, if you are a vegetarian, choose legumes such as lentils or white beans, oysters or whole grains. Eat eggs for keratin, fatty fish like tuna or salmon for essential fatty acids and protein, rice for biotin, a vitamin that helps strengthen and thicken your nails.

There are food supplements such as brewer’s yeast or royal jelly, rich in B vitamins and minerals that both nails and hair need. Perform a 3-month treatment prior to D-day for optimal results.
