The basics

October is the most popular month to get married in San Antonio, according to data from WeddingWire. Hill Country couples enjoy an engagement period of 13 months, on average, and invite about 126 guests to the wedding. When it comes to hiring a team of vendors – this includes the wedding venue and other professionals like a florist, pastry chef, and DJ – San Antonio couples average 13 vendors per wedding. There’s a lot of coordination required, so using a tool like our wedding checklist can help keep you organized as you prepare to get married in San Antonio.

How to get there and move

San Antonio is centrally located in Texas, so if many of your guests are coming from cities like Dallas, Houston, or El Paso, driving is the cheapest way to attend your wedding. For guests coming from out of states, or for people not ready for a long road trip, San Antonio is accessed through the San Antonio International Airport. The largest national airlines, including American, United, Delta and Southwest, operate there, as well as some international airlines, such as Aeroméxico.

Once your guests are safe in San Antonio, a rental car is the most efficient way to get around the city and its surroundings.

Weather

San Antonio enjoys a mild and subtropical climate, thanks to its location in the central plain. Summers are the most extreme, with temperatures exceeding 90 degrees on most days in June, July, and August, sometimes extending into September and October. It is never too cold, and in the winter months the average temperatures are in the 50s. Humidity and rainfall can vary from year to year, but September, October, January, March and May each see about four days of rain, while the rest of the year has three days.

Wedding accommodation and transportation

Make things easier for your out-of-town guests and your in-town wedding party by creating a block of rooms at your hotel’s wedding venue, or somewhere nearby. Make sure there is an affordable option for everyone by requesting multiple blocks of rooms at various hotels with different prices.

Beyond accommodation, you will also want to think about who will need transportation to attend your wedding ceremony if you get married in San Antonio. If your ceremony and reception will be held at two different locations, you may also want to offer a shared bus or car service to accompany guests and your wedding party.

Marriage licenses

If you are getting married in San Antonio, you need a Bexar County marriage license. You can apply for a marriage license online, but you must go to the County Clerk’s Marriage Licensing Department in person, located at 100 Doloresa Street in San Antonio, within five days to complete the process. Both parties must be present and you must pay the $ 81 cash fee. There is a 72-hour waiting period between the time the license is issued and the time you can get married.
