13 Modern Tropical Wedding Ideas We Are Obsessed With

Photograph of Bolin de Cristal

The idea behind this gorgeous Florida-style shoot was to inspire couples planning an intimate wedding, elopement, or destination wedding. Even if none of the above apply to you, we are sure you will love these amazing details! Coordinated by the A Pretty Affair team and captured on camera by Crystal Bolin Photography, this stylish shot puts a new twist on a garden wedding style. The team combined vintage and romantic décor with tropical-style details for a charming “Old Florida” feel. Other trendy pieces (geometric vases, marble cards) brought a modern flair to the garden.

Engraved cutlery

Show that ring! When it comes to getting the perfect creative ring shot, we’ve learned that you can turn almost anything into a beautiful accessory. We love how this team used these engraved forks and a simple leaf background.

Scrollwork signage

Decorate your loved one’s table with a handwritten runner that displays your favorite love quote. This stunning idea was brought to life with a simple roll of brown kraft paper and gorgeous calligraphy.

Literature quotes

If you like literature, show a love quote from your favorite book! Romantic wedding posters with quotes are one of the easiest ways to personalize and dress up your decor. The team behind this shoot chose an excerpt from “The Last Battle” by CS Lewis.

Greens galore

Who doesn’t like green? Not only is this one of our favorite ways to decorate your wedding, but green is also the Pantone Color of the Year 2021. Put your own unique spin on the greenery decorating trend by using giant leaves instead of signage. We love how this golden calligraphy appears against the green background!

Monstera Leaves & Marble

A giant leaf of the monstrous instantly adds a fresh twist to your décor – this tropical look is popping up everywhere on the wedding scene right now. We love how the team made a statement by incorporating the sheets into traditional locations for a totally pin-worthy idea, another detail of the moment: the marble cards. These are way cooler than regular paper cards, right? You can easily recreate this look by buying tiles in bulk and letting your wedding calligrapher work his magic.

Geometric accents

“The exquisite Jenny of Port + Palm Co. did something divine by truly speaking to our vision and filling beautiful diamond crystal vases with fall colors shining everywhere, not to mention the stunning wildflowers that joined the party.” says the team.

A little bubble

Of course, no reception is complete without a bit of bubbles! Display your signature drink (s) with a handwritten sign like this one. Think of a clever cocktail name to make it even more personal.

Pink glasses

For the shoot, the vendor’s crew was inspired by the Florida sun and salty air. They added details in gold and pink rose to turn the venue, a garden in Palm Beach, into a cozy wedding venue.

Hand lettered touches

“Every element of this particular shoot is close to our hearts, beginning with this spectacular handwritten script by a table runner, written by the very talented Corey of Ink Letter Love,” says the A Pretty Affair crew. “The old rustic table and absolutely beautiful seating were provided by none other than True Love Vintage. Chris, the owner, listened to our vision and had the most perfect pieces for us. “

Reused panels

They even changed the use of the old window panes as signage! If you are displaying decorative signs throughout the venue, pair them with other accents, such as a cluster of candles, greenery, or flowers, to make everything look intentional and well thought out.

Luxe Velvet

“Mixing Art Deco geometric shapes with soft tones and vintage seats was an idea that inspired us a long time ago,” says the team. “New Age knowing the vintage is something we don’t see often because they differ so much from each other, but the harmonious fusion is magical.”

Garden Inspired Flowers

Balance your modern decor with softer floral arrangements, like this garden-inspired combo of buttercups, lisianthus, greens, blush bridal proteas, goldenrod, and berries.

Reusable decoration

How adorable is this love quote? Signage like this is a great opportunity to photograph on your wedding day, but it can also be repurposed and displayed in your home long after the big day is over.
